![]() Dr. Sands K. Irani Dr. Irani is a third generation Washington physician. His grandparents Louise and Ardeshir Irani were both osteopathic physicians and his father Ardeshir Irani, Jr. an obstetrician gynecologist at Columbia Hospital for Women. Dr. Irani graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine and interned in Boston. After two years in the Navy he completed residency and fellowship training at the George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Irani is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Irani has a special interest in diseases of the pancreas and bile ducts and, over the years has been a consultant at the NIH and Childrens National Medical Center. He has written and lectured on the subjects. His particular expertise is in the areas of endoscopic surgery. He teaches at the George Washington University School of Medicine and has an academic appointment of Clinical Professor of Medicine.
